Education: B.S. Oceanography, Florida State University, 2008

Research Interests and Lab Duties: I have been working in Professor Kostka's laboratory since 2004. When I started as a technician my primary work was community analysis and building clone libraries for several projects. My focus was phylogenetic analysis of various environmental samples utilizing TRFLP and sequencing. Currently, my primary duties are modifying our molecular methods for maximum efficiency. I am on a constant mission to utilize the latest resources and developing methods to improve our current protocols.

My strongest skills within molecular biology are DNA/RNA extraction techniques, PCR, Quantitative PCR, cloning, and sequence analysis. I work closely with all the members in our lab to ensure research is moving forward using all available resources. I also maintain a strong communication network with all of our vendors for every need in the lab. Finally, I oversee all laboratory instruments to ensure exceptional performance on a consistent basis.
