OCC 5050 - Basic Chemical Oceanography

This course is an introduction to the organizataion of benthic and planktonic communities in the ocean. Students in the course are expected to have sufficient background in chemistry, physics, and mathematics to be able to understand lectures and do simple problems. The course includes discussions of the physical nature of seawater, distributions and measurements of inorganic and organic constituents of seawater, biological and geological processes influencing the chemistry of the ocean.
